Shipping to Poland — what you pay on delivery
Books ordered directly from me are posted from the United Kingdom with Royal Mail and delivered in Poland by Poczta Polska. As the UK is outside the European Union, the parcel goes through customs and the recipient in Poland pays on delivery:
- 5% VAT — the reduced Polish rate for books, charged on the value of the book plus postage. For a £14.99 book, the VAT on the book price alone is about 3.50–4 PLN, depending on the exchange rate.
- EU customs duty of €3 (about 13 PLN) — may be added under the new EU rules for parcels worth up to €150, in force since 1 July 2026.
- Poczta Polska's fee for making the customs declaration on your behalf — as per Poczta Polska's current price list.
These charges are collected by the postman or the post office on delivery. They are not part of the book price and are not paid to me. eBooks and audiobooks are downloaded from this website, so none of this applies to them.
